Staff Biographical Information
Sarah Squires- Executive Director
Reverend Sarah Squires is an Ordained Deacon in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Sarah has worked in the Dallas faith community for over 25 years on staff of several churches and non-profit agencies including First United Methodist Church and Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.
Sarah's earliest connection to Wesley-Rankin was as a child accompanying her mother to deliver donations to this West Dallas ministry. Sarah worked on the roof of many West Dallas homes as a volunteer and then staff member of Habitat for Humanity. "From the roof of a West Dallas home you can sense the great community that is West Dallas and see the close connection this community has to the development of Dallas. As the city changes and we watch the new bridges being built across the Trinity, I am blessed to be a part of the Wesley-Rankin Community Center that has served the needs of West Dallas for over 100 years."
Sarah and her husband Blaine just celebrated 29 years of marriage. They have three adult daughters, Ryan, Allison, and Kate. Sarah writes articles as a part of the mom's panel of the Dallas Morning News Briefing. She enjoys snow skiing, scrapbooking, and story telling.
Irma Flores - Women and Families Program Director
Irma Flores has served as our Women and Families Program Director since 1989. This full-time position includes responsibility for the Teen Parenting, Sewing, and Catering programs.
Irma worked for the Dallas Independent School District for 16 years before she was hired at Wesley-Rankin. Growing up in West Dallas, she participated in several programs at Wesley-Rankin throughout her life. Since the 1950s, she felt that her heart needed to be at Wesley-Rankin. It makes her feel good being at “home.” Irma has three grown children and three grandchildren, who have attended Wesley-Rankin’s daycare, Summer Program, and other special events at Wesley-Rankin.
Irma has responsibility over many programs at Wesley-Rankin. She worked many summers coordinating the Summer Program. In 1989, she started working full time at Wesley-Rankin as the Director of Women and Families Programs. In 1990, Irma began Wesley-Rankin’s Teen Parenting Program. At the beginning, there were only six participants. The program increased to 15 and now has about 25 participants. The program meets every Monday night and provides a forum for young parents to improve their life skills to become active and productive parents.
Irma also oversees Wesley-Rankin’s kitchens and sewing facilities. In that capacity, she arranges catering events, spearheads the annual Mother-Daughter Banquet, Fall tamale sales, and the Senior Citizen’s Sewing Circle. Irma sees that nutritious meals are prepared every day for the senior citizens program, after school, and summer camp programs. In 2005, Wesley-Rankin served over 41,000 meals and should top 48,000 or more in 2006.
When she is not at Wesley-Rankin, Irma enjoys spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and vacationing with friends and family when time permits.
Maria Pintor - Director of Community Outreach
Maria’s involvement with Wesley Rankin goes back to 1972 when she first arrived in Dallas. She is proud to say that she is a product of Wesley Rankin. While in high school, Maria volunteered at the center. Prior to joining the Wesley-Rankin staff, Maria worked for Catholic Charities for five years doing immigration work. In 1987, she was offered the position of Administrative Assistant at Wesley Rankin. An offer she says she did not think twice about taking as it afforded her an opportunity to give back to the community.
At Wesley Rankin, Maria has worn many hats – helping with GED classes, teaching ESL, and starting the Los Altos Community in Action group to increase community involvement. Maria has been at Wesley-Rankin for 19 years and currently is the Director of Community Outreach. This position consists of working with parents, community members, and local community agencies. She serves on the board of Project Transformation and Cara Mia Theatre.
In 1997, Wesley-Rankin became the first agency to become involved with Stand for Children, a children’s advocacy organization. Maria launched the first Stand for Children event in Dallas in 1997 and is proud that Wesley-Rankin is celebrating their 9th Annual Stand for Children Event. In 1999, Maria started the Care4Kids program, a program that encourages parents to become more involved with their children and has greatly increased the number of parent volunteers at the center.
Maria is married and has a son who has also grown up coming to Wesley-Rankin and was baptized at Nueva Esperanza UMC. In her spare time, she enjoys volleyball and dancing.
Norma Rangel - Administrative Assistant
Norma was born in McKinney, Texas and raised in Dallas. She attended Bishop Dunne High School for two years, graduated from Adamson High School in 1978, and attended El Centro and Cedar Hill College, where she studied for an Office Assistant certificate.
Prior to assuming her full-time role at Wesley-Rankin, Norma had the privilege of working part-time with Rev. Kathleen Baskin at Nueva Esperanza UMC as Administrative Assistant. Norma worked for Raushcer Pierce Refsnes, a stock firm as an Internal Auditor and Legal Coordinator for six years. Norma also worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as an Administrative Assistant for nine years. Dedicated to service in the Dallas area, Norma Rangel joined Wesley-Rankin Community Center as Administrative Assistant on June 21, 1992.
She is married to husband Rene and has a daughter, Rebecca, and a son, Rene, Jr.. Norma’s children have grown up attending programs at Wesley-Rankin. They started in HeadStart and were active in after school, summer and youth programming. Rene, Jr. graduated from Sunset H.S. in 2004 and has been working for John’s Printing Company as an Advertising Designer. Rene, Jr. also works part-time for Jim Marvin Collection as a Salesman. He is interested in a career in architecture. Becky is very active in sports and was elected Vice President of her Senior Class at Sunset High School for 2006-7. She was also involved in the Decathlon and was ranked 8th in her class. Spending quality time with her family is very important to Norma and she enjoys sharing time with them.
Norma also shares her compassion with others and impacts the lives of many children, youth, families, and senior adults in West Dallas. Norma is career-oriented, works well under pressure, skilled in dealing with all levels of people, and willing to accept new challenges and responsibilities. In her spare time she loves to just sit down, watch a movie, and eat popcorn.
Carrie Clark- Development Director
Carrie graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana with a BS in Sociology and BA in Religious Studies. After two life-changing summers working in South Dallas, she then moved to Texas to pursue her masters degree. Carrie graduated with her Masters in Church Ministry (emphasis in Urban Ministry) from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in 2010. Carrie previously worked for Project Transformation, an urban non-profit focused on ministry exploration for college students and community-oriented programs for low-income children and youth. Most previously, Carrie was employed by Jubilee Park & Community Center as the Development Associate and Volunteer Coordinator. Throughout undergraduate and graduate school, Carrie worked in sales at local boutiques and a national clothing store for women. She is extremely passionate and dedicated to the holistic approach to community renewal. At Wesley-Rankin, Carrie has paired her sales experience with her theological training to work in development.

Nathaniel O'Dell - Development Associate
Nathaniel O'Dell began working at the Wesley-Rankin Community Center in the fall of 2007 as the Project Transformation site coordinator for the elementary program. On August 18, 2008, on completion of his internship with Project Transformation, he was hired on full time as the Development Associate.
Nathaniel was born in Kailua, Hawaii, but by age five was in San Antonio, where he was raised. He was raised by his parents, Dave and Sally, and has three sisters, Sara, Megan and Caitlin (his twin). Nathaniel is also a proud uncle of six nieces and nephews (Brandon, Josh, Kaci, Keily, Abigail, and Aiden).
Nathaniel was graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in public relations and a minor in business in the summer of 2006. In his free time Nathaniel loves watching movies, hanging out with friends, and cooking.
William Ford - Youth Director
The greatness known as William Travis Ford began working at the Wesley Rankin Community Center in the fall of 2007 as the Project Transformation site coordinator for the youth program. After his internship was completed with Project Transformation, he was hired full time by Wesley Rankin Community Center as the Director of Youth Programming in the August of 2008.
William was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He was raised by his father and mother, Willie and Charlotte. He has one older sister, Tiffany, one younger brother, Jonathan and a nephew, Tyler.
William attended Texas A&M Commerce where he majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Education. When not working, William enjoys watching sporting events, hanging out with friends, spending time with family, and reading.
Rosemary Hinajosa - Counselor
Rosemary Hinajosa is the Counselor for Methodist Chilrend's Home based out of Wesley-Rankin Community Center in West Dallas. She is responsible for working with Wesley-Rankin staff in a team approach to assure coordination of services with high-risk youth and their families.
Here prior experience includes eleven years working at Parkland Health & Hospital System in a variety of diverse roles and responsibilities. As the Program Coordinator for Parkland's Mom-Mobile Transportation Program, she was responsible for ensuring a customer-oriented and efficient at-no-cost patient health care transportation service. She was also Interim Site Administrator for ten Youth & Family Health Clinics, Program Coordinator of the Shared Medical Appointments model porgram, and an Educator/Trainer. Her responsibilities also extended beyond the scope of her primary jobs to leadership roles on the Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) Resource Team.
Prior to joining Parkland, Ms. Hinajosa worked in West Dallas in various positions. She was a Project Director of a federally funded substance abuse prevention program for youth and their famililes; a social service Youth Director for a Catholic Charities agency; and a high school teacher. In addition, Ms. Hinajosa has served as a training consultant for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) in Washington, D.C. and local agencies. She developed a Mexican-American youth curriculum for the Greater Dallas Community of Churches.
She is an active community volunteer, having co-founded two Dallas non-profit agencies in the field of affordable housing and youth violence and gang prevention, and has also served on the board of directors, or in leadership roles for several others. She is also a state-certified mediator and real estate agent.
Ms. Hinajosa has a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and a master's degree in Organizational Management from Dallas Baptist University.
