Cynthia Izaguirre Cynthia Izaguirre is co-anchor of News 8 Daybreak. She started at WFAA in January after spending 8 years as the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. co-anchor of Action 7 News in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During her tenure at Channel 7, she received numerous awards for excellence in journalism including two first place awards for investigative reporting. |
Cynthia was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Dallas. She attended Herbert Marcus elementary, Longfellow Academy for middle school and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School off Forest and Walnut Hill. Cynthia attended The University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism with a double minor in Political Science and Spanish. Cynthia grew up watching WFAA and even remembers Gloria Campos coming to speak at Thomas Jefferson. Cynthia’s hope now that she’s back home in Dallas is to give back to the community that gave so much to her. Cynthia is from here and best here!
In her free time, Cynthia likes to salsa dance, enjoy the great outdoors and of course…cheer on the Cowboys!
